1945 dated metal ammunition box for 4 projectiles from the famous 25pdr field gun. Box in great condition with original paint and stencilling, catches / hinges / handles all functioning.The box came from a local brocante or boot fair in Bras a village just outside Bastogne this village is were British and American forces both re captured it from the Germans during the fighting in early 1945.This box was used in the fighting that took place in the Ardennes Forest during the battle of the Bulge in the winter of 1944-1945.A very nice unusual relic freshly found in September 2018 in Belgium ware it has been since the battle.

On January 14th 1945 in the village of Bras a historic meeting took place when the American forces linked up with the British forces and drove the Germans back in to Germany. Below the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders from Scotland shook hands with representatives of the U.S. 87th Infantry Division in Bras on that day.
