This is a Group of airframe and Engine parts there are 9 parts in all which are aluminium airframe sections also mag allow engine case with some small engine parts. These airframe sections do have some black/grey original paintwork still very clear to see in places all the parts have ripped, smashed and bent by the impact of the crash they have been nicely cleaned and still retains a lot of there original colours and they are 1-6 inches long in size and are in nice solid condition for a aluminium and metal relics perfect for display or any collection and rare to get nice parts from a battle of Britain Me109 .The part comes from German Messerschmitt bf109 work number 3627 of 3/JG27 which was shot down by RAF fighters on the 5th September 1940 at 4.15pm and crashed at Appledore near Ashford in Kent. A very nice air frame relic from a battle of Britain and German Messerschmitt 109.The tyre comes with a A5 laminated information sheet with pictures and photo of the pilot.
The plane was in combat with RAF fighters and was shot down by Sergeant C.A.L Hurry of number 43 squadron over Tenterden in Kent. The plane crashed and burned out at Appledore Station the pilot Oberleutnant Helmut Strobel was killed. The plane was recovered in the early 1970’s and was again re dug in 1978 when many other parts were recovered it was not until a third dig on 5th September 1986 this time they dug much deeper and they then found the body of Helmet Strobel which they recovered. He is last German pilot from the Battle of Britain to be recovered in Great Britain. In a twist of fate he was born on the 5th September 1915 as well in Austria he has now re buried back in his home town of Kolbnitz near Badgastein in Austria.
