German soldiers mess tin with original paintwork remains dated 1938,lovely condition recovered from Monte Cassino Italian battlefield of 1944 from a local museum which closed down in 2015

This is a German soldiers mess tin still with all of its original green paintwork on the lid no paintwork on the tin its self. The tin is complete with its carry handle and is dated 1938 and is very rare to get from the battle field in this good a condition still with so much paintwork and original colour it is not really relic pretty much perfect condition very solid condition does have a tiny bit of damage and a couple of pin prick holes from being buried but really nothing bad at all it has been nicely cleaned perfect for display or any collection. The tin was recovered from Monte Cassino the Italian battlefield of 1944 in Italy the box was recovered many years ago and has been in a local museum since which closed down in 2015.A very nice relic from the very famous Italian battlefield.
