This is a German mg 34/42 single ammunition tin which is in relic condition it has fairly heavy rust all over and some rust holes but not to many mostly in the bottom .The the lid still opens and closes the hinge is unbroke the lock on the tin does still work but the back lock has rusted solid but does not stop it opening there is some very small remains of yellow paint the sand camouflage paintwork which is fairly clear to see in places it has been very well cleaned and the inside is no better then the outside it is overall in fairly good condition for a relic on the lid the handle has rusted solid as have the 2 side handles. This tin was recovered in the area of the village of Marinovka which was defended by the 297th Infantry Division also in the pit was RAD [Reich Labour Service] items as well all used during the battle of 1942-1943 at Stalingrad in Russia. The box part comes with A5 laminated information card.
