    This is a nice example of a Complete British 18 pounder shrapnel shell lovely condition dated December 1915 the brass shell head is dated January 1916 and the very rare bit is it still has its centre tube and some shrapnel balls inside .The steel case with green painted finnish and still has its brass driving band attached this retains its original colour the case is a bit pitted but complete. The head has the some small marks and dents from being fired still its lovely dark brass colour a but overall lovely condition would clean up more the head has all of its original markings very clear to see the shell is completely empty and inert and overall perfect condition for display and rare for any collection. The shell was found on the on the Somme battlefield of 1916-1918.
