    British cavalry soldiers mess tin with lid it was recovered from the river at Thiepval on The Somme in 2016.This was the scene of savage fighting on the 1st july 1916 during the first day of the battle of The Somme.The tin and lid are in relic but solid condition covered in silt and dirt from the river bed the tin does still have some small amount of original paint work these tins are much rarer then the standard army ones as they were only used by cavalry troops it is perfect for display or any collection.A very nice relic from a very famous area on the Somme battlefield.
