British 1st Pattern Brodie Helmet it is a relic it does not have its leather liner or chin strap with some battle damage and is a nice find from the battlefield. The helmet is rusty but still in solid condition it does have some of what looks like brown paintwork on it on the outside and the inside this is what makes this helmet so rare to get a relic ww1 British helmet with paintwork does not happen often there only a little bit of paint but it is there this helmet does not have any of its chin strap holders the helmet has been very well cleaned and with a large impact hole and and small crack in the top of it ripped and blown in an explosion it is perfect for display or any collection. This is very rare to get such a nice solid Brodie helmet especially so clean and shiny recovered from the battlefield as they normally now just brake up when they are found due to rusting away as they were not as well made and thinner metal then other helmets. This helmet was recovered in 2013 from a British first aid station in Aveluy woods which was British rear area during the battle on the Somme in July 1916.A very nice and rare relic from the famous battlefield of 1916 on the Western Front.
