This is a British soldiers gas mask dated 1939 on the side the rubber is still very solid and not braking up or crumbling the mask still has sand in it from the recovery it is missing its back straps but does still have its eyelets the mask is in lovely condition relic and very rare to find.This mask which was only very recently recovered from the beeches its self is part of a large private collection in Dunkirk from which the items have been recovered of many years from the early 1980's on wards either throw detecting on the beaches them self's or the surrounding area and items found in buildings or dump sites or scrap yards and collected from local people who had them for souvenirs a vast collection all from the area which was being used by the British Army in 1940 during the evacuation. A very nice rare relic from the famous Dunkirk pocket battle of 1940
