    This is a German nice condition Bakelite fuse box container lid remains which has maker markings very clear to see and read.The lid is not complete it has burnt in a fire which has broken off the other part of  the lid this section of lid still has lots of black burn marks from the fire when the plane was shot down.The lid still retains all of its original colour it has been very nicely cleaned and it is perfect to display or any collection the part is 7 inches long .The box lid which the complete container with supplies for the ground troops was being transported by the German aircraft when it crashed this  was recovered from the crash site of the German Junkers JU52 transport plane which was shot down during Operation Mercury in May 1941 during the German invasion of Crete.The part comes with 2xA5 laminated information cards with pictures.

    German Junkers JU52 transport plane which was scrapped after the war on Crete and were found in the scrapyard and have been in a private collection ever since.

    The JU52 was used and damaged beyond repair during Operation Mercury in May 1941 during the German invasion and capture of the Island.
