This is a aluminium airframe panel which is still fairly clean and with pretty much all of its original dark green paintwork the panel does have some dirt on it still but not very much it has been very well cleaned and has a lot of original colour it is in nice solid condition it has ripped and bent by the impact of the crash but is perfect for display or any collection it is 6 inches long by 5 inches wide in size and is VERY RARE to get parts like this from a German ME262 jet. The part comes from German Messerschmitt me 262A-2a jet plane of 3/KG51 shot down 14th February 1945 by RAF Spitfire the pilot was Feldwebel Rudolf Hofmann killed the plane crashed at Emmrich in Germany and comes with a A5 information laminated sheet and is a very nice relic from the very famous jet fighter. The Messerschmitt me262 was shot down by Australian Ace Squadron Leader Frederick Anthony Owen "Tony" Gaze this was his 10th victory he was the first Australian pilot to achieve this feat. The jet dived straight into the ground and was destroyed the pilot was killed in the crash.
