This is a Russian Soldiers SSH40 pattern helmet with rare brown camouflage paintwork remains this is what it looks like never seen before they are always green but this defiantly looks brown possibly done by the soldier themselves as summer camouflage in the corn fields. The helmet is pretty much complete a bit of rust damage on the bottom edges and few small rust holes it is rusty but solid it has been very nicely cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection and a rare type of paintwork helmet to find .This helmet was recovered from near the village of Plota which is south of Prokhorovka where the main tank battle was on the 12th July 1943 the site of the largest Tank battle of the war and the last great German offensive of the war in the East at Kursk in Russia
