    This is a German double maxim machine gun ammunition tin which are much rarer to find then the single ones and hard to get hold off.The tin is in relic but solid condition and the lid still opens,closes and locks but one catch is missing also has its original carry handle and does have some green paintwork on it but not sure if original.The box has some battle damage impact holes in one side then gone out though the over shrapnel hits by the look of it on the inside the box it is in nice clean and solid condition but is missing its center divider. The tin was recovered from the area of Mametz which is a village on the July 1st 1916 front line on the famous Somme battlefield of 1916.
