This is a engine piston conrod ring that sat right inside of a piston conrod ring this is the type with no bolt holes which is 4 inches long and still retains a lot of its original colours. The part has no real damage from the impact of the crash it was well protected by the engine it does have some rust damage from being in the English channel for 30 odd years but not to badly rusted with some light pitting it is still very solid not braking up at all and has been very nicely cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection. The engine part is from the Junkers Jumo 211 engine on German Ju87b-1 stuka dive bomber of 3/stG2 which was shot down at 1.00pm on the 16th August 1940. The aircraft crashed at Pagham during the battle of Britain. The plane was shot down by RAF Hurricanes of NO 43 Squadron and 601 Squadron during a dive bomb attack on Tangmere Airfield. The plane crashed and exploded at Honar Farm in Pagham the crew Unteroffizier P.Linse and Obergefreiter R.Messerschmidt and come with a laminated A5 information cards with pictures.
