This is a wheel from the back tracks used by German sdkfz 253 half track-command vehicle which was not made such large numbers as other German half tracks. The wheel which still has a lot of its tyre left which the rubber is very solid not braking up but has been used post war with metal brackets put round the tyre they are no maker markings on the tyre a well used wheel. On it the metal centre is un damaged it has no extra bolt holes but has been re used it is still its nice round shape no impact marks still with some remains of its original black colour paintwork and red undercoat in places fairly clear to see it is in relic condition rusty but still solid and has been very nicely cleaned perfect for any display or collection and a rare find from the battlefield. The wheel was recovered from near the village Plota which is south Prokhorovka ware the main tank battle was on the 12th July 1943. The box was recovered from near the village of Plota near Prokhorovka on the battlefield at Kursk 1943 where the largest Tank battle of the war and the last great German offensive of the war in the East in Russia. The wheel comes with 2x A5 laminated information cards.
