    This is a engine crank shaft section part of the main shaft that powered the propeller you can see ware it has ripped off in the impact of the crash.The shaft still has its black colour finish and has the metal bearing that sat around it still attached but this comes away to make 2 parts both have been very nicely cleaned and still retains a lot of its original colour and are in nice solid condition and very rare to get a part like this and be able to tell ware about on the aircraft it is from the crank section is 4 inches long by 5 inches wide.The part comes from German messerschmitt 109 number 4822 shot down on 22nd October 1940 and crashed in to the sea of Hastings during the Battle of Britain. A very nice air frame relic from a battle of Britain and German Messerschmitt 109.The item comes with a 5x7 laminated information sheet.

    The plane from a JG51 aircraft flown by Feldwebel.Mueller. The plane was severely damaged in attacks by squadron leader A.G.Malan and flying officer J.C.Mungo-Park of No 74 squadron during escort sortie for bomber formation attacking London.The plane crashed in to the channel 4 miles east of Hastings at 2.30pm on the 22nd October1940 Mueller baled out unhurt and rescued from his dinghy by the Hastings lifeboat.Below A.Malan and J.C Mango park
