This is a pair of airframe and structure parts from a RAF Gloster meteor of 616 squadron. The parts one which has been cut away from larger section but both have come of the aircraft properly in a crash of some sort so does have some damage but is still very solid and one still has a lot of original green and brown paintwork on and both still retain a lot of original colour. The parts have been very nicely cleaned perfect to display or any collection and are both 9 inches long in size. These parts were used by RAF Gloster Meteor of 616 Squadron recovered from a pit of buried parts left by the RAF at the Airfield at Melsbroek in Belgium where they were stationed in early 1945.The parts come with a A5 laminated information sheet.

In January 1945 and in February a detachment of Gloster Meteor ‘s was deployed to Melsboek near Brussels in Belgium. It was intended as a defence against Messerschmitt 262’s but in the event they did not ever face them. In early April the complete squadron moved to the Netherlands.
