This is a very rare German Tiger tank relic which is a cartridge case extractor - located within the breech mechanism of the famous 88mm gun this was a two part extractor to remove the fired case from the breech. It is in relic but solid condition it is rusty but has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection. This extractor was recovered with other tiger parts from near the town of stavelot in the Ardennes Forest this is how we know it is from a German King Tiger of SS panzer abteilung 501 of the SS Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler they were the only King Tiger tanks in the area so has to be from one of those that was destroyed in the battle a very rare and nice relic used in the Battle of the bulge in the winter of 1944-1945.The armour comes with a A5 laminated information card with pictures.
SS.Panzer Abteilung 501 which had 20 King tiger tanks this was the independent heavy Tiger Abteilung of The 1st SS Panzer Division "Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler. The King Tiger was used in significant numbers for the only time in the west during the Ardennes offensive, distributed into four heavy panzer battalions. At least 150 Tiger IIs were present, nearly a third of total production, and most were lost during the offensive.
