    This is a French soldiers gas mask tin dated 1928 with remains of its original paper label inside the lid.The tin is complete with its original markings on the bottom with the date and it has a little bit of original paintwork the lid still opens and closes and is air tight does have a dent in one side it is very rusty with a few small rust holes.The tin is very rare to find from the battlefield recovered from the beech area in Bray Dunes many years ago.This tin is part of a large private collection in Dunkirk from which the items have been recovered many years from the early 1980's on wards either throw detecting on the beaches them self's or the surrounding area and items found in buildings or dump sites or scrap yards and collected from local people who had them for souvenirs a vast collection all from the area which was being used by the British Army in 1940 during the evacuation. A very nice rare relic from the famous Dunkirk pocket battle of 1940
