This is a Belgium soldiers gas mask tin captured by the Germans in 1940 and re used in the Whermacht. The tin with its original cloth carry strap remains not complete with the gas mask which is dated 1939 and in fantastic condition the mask is nice and solid not damaged with many maker markings and stamps and retains its original colours. The tin is complete with its original markings on the top it has a lot of original green paintwork clear to see it does have some surface rust but no holes the lid still opens and closes and is air tight the lock is stiff. This complete tin and mask was recovered from village of Plota near Prokhorovka on the battlefield at Kursk 1943 where the largest Tank battle of the war and the last great German offensive of the war in the East in Russia.
