This is a fantastic condition German Army soldiers steel belt buckle which is in semi-relic condition complete and with its markings still partly visible on the front but on the back completely clear to see even with the eagle and swastika are there.The buckle still retains a lot of its original colour solid condition it has been nicely cleaned still with its back clip which has leather belt remains attached to it the buckle is perfect for display or any collection and a unusual find from the battlefield in such nice condition.The belt buckle was recovered from the area where the German 30th infantry division fought and finally surrendered in May 1945 near the village of Tilti which is south of Derben in the Kurland Pocket the battlefield of 1944-1945. A lovely piece of iconic battle history from one of the most famous pockets on the Eastern Front.
