    This is a German AZ1 artillery fuse used on large calibre artillery shells.The head is in nice condition with no major damage it has been well cleaned there are no markings that can be seen and does not retain original colour the screw thread is in nice complete condition would screw back in to a shell if you wanted to.The head was recovered from the site of a German anti aircraft battery in between the coast and the city of Caen from the battlefield in Normandy a very nice relic from the famous D-Day landings and the Normandy battlefield in the summer 1944.
