    German Granfenwerfer 16 Mortar bomb which is missing its tail fin which was ripped off when the bomb was fired the tail section still unscrews from the main charge case.The mortar bomb is empty and inert the whole bomb is relic but solid and has been very nicely cleaned and still retains some of its original black finnish it is in very solid condition very rare to get one of these from the battlefield in this good a condition and that still unscrews perfectly.The grenade was recovered many years ago around the village of Thiepval on The Somme battlefield.This was the scene of savage fighting on the 1st july 1916 during the first day of the battle of The Somme and for later battles during the Somme campaign.
