This is a large cockpit bakerlite made electrical part which has many maker markings on it most very clear to read this is one of the pull out circuits with the metal handle.The bakerlite its self is in very good condition it is dirty but still very solid this electrical part came from the cockpit are of the plane and is in fantastic condition for a fragile electrical part is 9 inches long by 4 inches wide.This cockpit part was recovered from German Heinkel 111 bomber of 4/KG53 number 5536; the pilot lost his bearings and the crew abandoned the plane at 01.07 on the 29 October 1940 and crashed in to the River Stour .A very nice part from the famous battle of Britain and German Heinkel 111 bomber this one of the most famous recovery's of a German Bomber in England it is perfect for display and comes with a A5 laminated information sheet with recovery photos of the plane.

The crew abandoned the plane believing that they were over Holland. The plane was on a bombing sortie to bomb Gravesend Aerodrome. The plane crashed in the River Stour near Parkeston Quay. The crew Obereldwebel K.Penzel bailed out and was captured unhurt. Oberfeldwebel H.Metzger,Unteroffizier F.Sigger,Unteroffizier J.Klitscher and Unteroffizier H.Luddecke all bailed out and were captured; slightly injured. The plane was an epic recovery out of the river in 1984 and 1985. The photos below are of the recovery of the plane the 1980’s.
