    This is a German novetext manufactured spur gears for cam shaft covers from the engine of a opel made car or Lorry.They are in nice condition and retain there original brown colour with all the maker markings still very clear to see they are pretty much un damaged and very nice examples and very rare to find from the battlefield in this condition and nice size 10-5 inches wide .They have been nicely cleaned and are perfect for display or any collection. The gears which were found many years ago on the site of the famous Trun scrap yard after it closed down. The yard of course is in the Falaise Pocket in Normandy the summer 1944 battlefield. The item has come from an old private collection and comes with A5 laminated information card.

    The scrap yard was opened after the war and many German vehicles destroyed in the Falaise Pocket and other battles in Normandy ended up here to be scraped the yard was open until 1980 when it closed down and was cleared. Photos below are of the scrap yard taken in the 1960’s or 1970’s.
