    This is a German soldiers shovel head which is in nice condition semi-relic at worst it is maker marked on the blade clear to see.The shovel which has the remains its original wooden handle still attached which is very rare to find and in such good condition.The metal head is rusty in some places but only surface rust and still has remains of its original paintwork the wooden handle section is not crumbling or braking up at all it is fantastically solid no damage other then being broken it did have woodworm at some point it has been treated it has been very nicely cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection.The shovel was found on the Somme battlefield 1916-1918
