This is a German mg 34/42 single ammunition tin which is in relic condition there is surface rust and some heavier rust in places all over and some rust holes but not to many mostly in the bottom .The the lid still opens and closes but no properly the hinge is unbroke the lock on the tin is broken but still there and does not work properly but the rare bit is the remains of yellow paint the sand camouflage paintwork which is very clear to see in places it has been very well cleaned and the inside is is much better then the outside not as rusty and a lot of sand paintwork as well it is overall in lovely condition for a relic on the lid the handle has rusted solid as have the 2 side handles but a very nice example of this mg ammunition tin battlefield recovered especially with this paintwork. The tin was recovered from near the village Plota which is south Prokhorovka ware the main tank battle was on the 12th July 1943. The tin was recovered from a half track destroyed during the largest Tank battle of the war and the last great German offensive of the war in the East at Kursk the 1943 battle in Russia.
