    This is a group of fired 50 cal cannon cases there are 3 cases in all.The cases do have some damage and discolored from being buried but not damaged on the bottom all of the markings can be seen its dated 1942-43 they have  been very well cleaned and are perfect for display or any collection they are empty and inert.The cases are from B17 flying fortress bomber number 42-31528 of 305th Bomber Group of 365th Bomber Squadron crashed 31st December 1943 at Ashridge in Hertfordshire in England on its return with severe battle damage after raid on Bordeaux-Merignac.The parts come with A5 laminated information card with pictures. 

    The raid details were 200 of 236 B-17 bombers and 57 of 60 B-24 bombers hit the Bordeaux-Merignac, Cognac-Chateaubernard and Landes Bussac Airfields at 1211-1315 hours on 31st August 1943 they claim 17-13-27 Luftwaffe aircraft; 18 B-17 bombers and 5 B-24 bombers are lost, 8 B-17 bombers and 2 B-24 bombers are damaged beyond repair and 103 B-17 bombers and 5 B-24 bombers are damaged; casualties are 9 Killed in Haction, 36 Wounded in action and 231 Missing in action.
