This is a engine valve rocker from the hart of the Jumo engine with impact damage.The rocker still retains a lot of its original colour and is in lovely clean condition it has bent on one side by the impact of the crash and has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection the section.This engine rocker was recovered from the crash site of German Junkers JU87 Stuka dive bomber of 4/STG77 it was shot down on 22nd May 1940 at 7.30pm by RAF fighters during the Battle of France and the Low Countries.The part comes with a A5 laminated information card with pictures.
The plane was attacking traffic on the roads East of Saint Omer along with other Stukas when it was attacked by RAF Hurricanes of NO 151 Squadron it was shot down by Squadron leader Edward Mortlock Donaldson the stuka crashed South of Cassel. The crew were Leutnant G.Kindermann and Unteroffizier H.Reichart both bailed out but were captured unhurt.
