    German steel shell case for the 7.5cm light infantry gun (L.I.G.18) 1943 dated with most markings still visible on the base. The case is in solid relic condition with a few small holes through the metal and some pitting to sides and base. Neck still perfectly round so could be used to display shell. Most of the markings are still visible on the base with the primer markings being especially clear. Picked up from the forest floor many years ago has been in a private collection since. Recovered from the battlefield around Houffalize in the Ardennes where the 116th panzer division fought in the 1944-1945 battles. The shell case has been in local collection until 2018 when it left the Ardennes area for the first time since the war.
