The lid does not open and close because of being bent it does still have its locking catch this does not work the tin is in nice solid condition it has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection. This tin was recovered from around the village of Plota, near Prokhorovka where the main tank battle was fought during the Kursk offensive on the 12th of July 1943.A very nice relic from the famous Eastern front battlefield.
