    This is a Metal powder charge container with maker numbers which looks French made but captured and used by the Germans.The container still with maker numbers clear to see it has no holes just a few dents from use the lid still opens and closes also locks the container still retains its original colours it has been very nicely cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection and a rare find.The container is in fantastic condition for its age and is in very solid condition it has only survived this well as it has been in a chalk lined bunker for 100 years.The container was recovered from inside a German bunker near the village of Bucquay which was a German artillery position during the later part of The Somme battle in 1916 a very nice and rare relic from the famous Somme battlefield.
