    This is a group of World War 1 German barbed wire sections re used in World War 2 by the Wehrmacht on the Atlantic Wall defence. There are 8 parts in all fairly similar size sections of German barbed wire this is the early war wire much thicker then the later one the sections are around 3-6 inches long rare to get re used in the second war The wire which is in relic but solid condition it is rusty but not crumbling or braking up and still covered in some light sand and dirt from being recovered. The barbed wire was recovered recovered in 2017 during building work on the Digue de Allies [road of the Allies] close to the Dunkirk evacuation memorial on the beech front at Dunkirk in Northern France. The wire comes with a A5 laminated information card with pictures showing the location as it looked in 1940.
