    This is a German ammunition wooden crate for 7.62mm bullets with 3 paper labels 2 on the outside and one inside which is near complete all with readable markings the box is maker marked dated 1936. The box is in fantastic condition with all its original markings both leather hinges in nice condition and work also leather strap lock again works perfectly but does not have its cloth carry handles the lid still opens and closes perfectly the box held 1000 x 7.62mm bullets. The box still retains its lovely brown colour it has no real damage it is still very solid not braking up or falling apart no wood worm either a rare very well preserved box a very nice example of this famous ammunition crate. The crate came from a private collection in Dieppe originally used by the German Army in the Normandy campaign in the summer of 1944.
