This is parts of a German soldiers soldiers G98 ammunition pouch i think it might 2 different pouches. The parts still retain there black colour the brass fittings have rusted and turned green the leather has dried out and is slightly miss shaped it is in relic but very solid condition not braking up or falling apart it has been left in as found condition apart from a very light clean to show the black colour of the leather and have only survived this well as it has been in a chalk lined bunker for 100 years perfect for display or any collection so rare to get from the battlefield as leather items are fragile and normally that just rot away. These leather remains were recovered from inside a German bunker near the village of Bucquay which was a German artillery position during the later part of The Somme battle in 1916 a very nice and rare relic from the famous Somme battlefield.
