This is a British 3 inch anti aircraft shell case which is complete with no damage other then a bit of discolour and is still its shiny brass colour. The case on the bottom is missing its primer it is complete with all markings and dated 1917 a very nice example and a unusual one for any collection these cases are not easy to find in this condition. The case was used by the QF 3 inch 20 cwt anti-aircraft gun which became the standard anti-aircraft gun used in the home defence of the United Kingdom against German airships and bombers and on the Western Front. The case came from a private collection but originally found on the Somme battlefield of 1916-1918.
