This is a German Wehrmacht vehicle medical box or Verbandkasten with the red cross maker markings partly clear to see on the lid. The box has some of its original sand colour paintwork remains on it all over the box properly about 80% paintwork still on it. The box which has some dents and knocks from use it has light surface rust all over but not any heavy thick rust the box still opens and closes and locks perfectly on the inside it has been over painted green not sure if post war or wartime it is in overall pretty good condition and a nice example of this medical box which is battlefield found and more semi-relic at worst which has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection .The medical box came from a private collection in Dieppe originally used by the German Army in the Normandy campaign in the summer of 1944.
