This is a Russian Soldiers SSH40 pattern helmet which has its top section missing blown away with battle damage it does have some other smaller rust holes and cracks as well. The very rare bit about this helmet is the original green paintwork there is a fair bit of it very clear to see which is very unusual to find with a Russian helmet also has remains of its liner ring and chin strap holders still in place it is rusty but solid it has been very nicely cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection. This helmet was recovered from near the village of Plota which is south Prokhorovka ware the main tank battle was on the 12th July 1943 the site of the largest Tank battle of the war and the last great German offensive of the war in the East at Kursk in Russia.
