This is American soldiers shoe cleaning tin still with a lot of its original black stamped markings partly clear to see and green colour on the outside also has what looks like burnt paper stuck to the base. The tin does have a fair bit of surface rust in places its lid is stuck on but would come off with effort a lovely condition especially for a battlefield recovered relic tin that was only recovered very recently from the forest it has been well cleaned it is perfect for display or any collection. This tin was recovered from a hole full of American tins buried in the woods around Bastogne in the Ardennes Forest from the scene of the battle of the bulge in the winter of 1944-1945 a very nice and rare relic from this famous battle and Hitler's last big offensive of the war.
