    This is a Russian brass high explosive shell head with maker stamp and dated 1915 fired by a very large size artillery guns this a exploded complete nose section from a shell which has ripped from the shell when fired.The shell head still its lovely brass colour is in very nice condition for over 100 years old and tells the story of the battle the steel case nose cone which has exploded and flatten by the impact of being fired this large heavy head has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection nice and solid Russian head which is 13 inches wide and 7 inches tall in size.This head was recovered from the battlefield of Tannenberg but not from the August 1914 battle properly one of the German offensives in May 1915 while driving the Russians back out of East Prussia.
