Rare cockpit electrical box cover with maker label recovered from inside German Junkers Ju88 night fighter - 4/NJG2 shot down on night intruder raid over England on 17th April 1941 and crashed near Peterborough

This is a very rare aluminium cockpit electrical box cover which is pretty much complete it has some damage from the impact of the crash but nothing to bad but a large impact dent on one side with some light rust and discolor and has some dents and knocks as well. The box still retains a lot of its original colours and black paintwork with white markings and has a maker label still attached with not many readable markings it is in very nice clean condition it is perfect for display and a very rare part for any collection the box is 3 half inches in size. The box is from the cockpit area and was recovered from inside German Junkers Ju88 night fighter of 4/NJG2 shot down on night intruder raid over England on 17th April 1941 and crashed near Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. The box cover comes with 2x A5 laminated information cards with pictures.

The crash remains a mystery as there are British fighter claims of a ju88 for that night and its was not shot down by Anti-aircraft fire. The plane crashed late in the night of the 17th April at Hurns Farm, Gedney Hill near Peterborough. The crew of the plane were Pilot Obergefreiter Wilhelm Beetz,  Wireless Operator  Gefreiter Rudolf Kronika, Gunner Gefreiter Johann Mittag. All were killed in the crash and were listed as missing in action since 1941 until the plane was recovered in 1978 and the crew were all buried at Cannock Chase.
