This is Rare find German medical wooden crate with green and brown camouflage paintwork and has a red cross in a white circle  painted on to the lid.The box has lot of its original green/brown paintwork it is nicely marked on the exterior lid fairly clear to see the box has its hinge working fine the lid opens closes but does not lock as the key is missing the inside has no racking but does have another key hole in the bottom this looks like a field made medical box made with what ever they could find by the soldiers themselves at the front .The wood is still solid for over 100 years old and is one of the best examples of a medical box i have seen from the Great War the box is perfect for display or re enacting. This crate came from a collection on the Somme so a very nice relic from the famous Somme battlefield of 1916-1918.
