This is a rare to find condition German soldiers K98 rifle remains which still has a lot of the wood in place some has rotted away like the butt there is still a lot attached the barrel near all in some places the wood is very solid not braking up at all so hard to find on a recovered rifle. The metal frame which is a nice straight barrel also has some bits missing but you can see from the pictures how of the rifle looks in regards to what is still attached to it but trigger section is still there but no trigger but does still have its rifle bolt in place as well. The rifle is rusty but solid and has been nicely cleaned still with some dirt on it from the recovery it is in perfect condition for display or any collection and a cracking rare find from the battlefield it is de activated by condition as it is relic. The rifle is a recovered battlefield find properly taken from a German pow who had his rifle removed and chucked in to a pit by Allied soldiers after he surrendered .The k98 rifle was recovered from a field near Trun, which we think was a pit dug by the allies where lots of German equipment was thrown in and buried after the battle, Falaise Pocket in France 1944. A nice relic from the Normandy battlefield.
