This is a spare shell carry case 155mm for US M12 motor carriage or known as long tom artillery gun.The case is dated 1944 and still has some remains of original paintwork and markings the case is in very nice condition for a battlefield find.This case has known history the Long Tom gun that this case was supplying was firing on to the village of Bras near Bastogne on the 13th January 1945 at the last Germans occupying the Village on the following day Bras was taken by the Allies and the British and American forces meet in the middle of the Village.The gun was firing from a farm on a hill outside Bras and this case was found many years later on the exact spot ware the Long Tom had been all them years early a rare bit of history from the bulge battle in the winter of 1944.This case comes with a laminated 5x7 information sheet with information and photos.
