This is a very rare and nice find from the battlefield a German 98K schiebecher illumination rifle grenade which is in 2 parts the top goes in and out perfectly and has its chain attached. The grenade top case is rusty and pitted and with some original white paintwork the main body with some small rust holes and damage from around top section and has been overpainted black to help preserve it the bottom part is rusty it is very solid not braking up at all it a cracking condition relic that has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection. The rifle grenade which is empty and completely inert was recovered from near the village Plota which is south Prokhorovka ware the main tank battle was on the 12th July 1943 where the largest Tank battle of the war and the last great German offensive of the war in the East in Russia.
