This is a American jeep fuel can holder which is pretty much complete it does have some original black and light blue paintwork very clear to see. The blue paint is underneath the black is all over the holder does have a lot of colour left in general it has some small damage knocks and dents but nothing to bad at all it is rusty in places but mostly only light surface rust does have a few holes but again nothing to bad it has been very well cleaned and is perfect for display or any collection. The holder was recovered from the woods around the site of the battle on the Longvilly road near Bastogne in the Ardennes Forest from the scene of the battle of the bulge in the winter of 1944-1945.A very nice relic from this famous battle and Hitler's last big offensive of the war.

The battle on the Longvilly road took place on the 19th December 1944 when an American force under Colonel Cherry came under attack by German Panzer Lehr Division along the road between Longvilly and Bastogne the Americans lost around 200 vehicles in the battle.
