    This is a very rare to find German Wehrmacht fuel can dated 1943 with white winter camouflage paintwork. The can which was green painted but then over painted white properly done for the Ardennes offensive its self still with all its maker markings clear to see it has no real damage other then in the bottom where it is more rusty then the rest of the can and with some small rust holes it also have small dents and some scratches from use the cap still opens and closes also locks perfectly well it is in overall a nice condition it has been nicely cleaned retains a lot of original colour and a nice example of this famous fuel can found from the battlefield. The can which would have been used by the 26 Volksgrenadier-Division was found in the village of Bras a village just outside Bastogne this village is were British and American forces both re captured it from the Germans during the fighting in early 1945. A very nice unusual relic found in September 2018 in Belgium ware it had been since the battle and comes with a A5 laminated information card.

    The 26. Volksgrenadier-Division was formed in September 1944 on the training ground Warthelager near Posen from 26th Infantry Division and manpower from the partially formed 582 Volksgrenadier Division It was sent to the western front and saw action in the Ardennes suffering heavy losses. The remains of the division went into captivity in the Harz Mountains in April 1945.
