This is a large and heavy undercarriage leg remains which is the centre ram. This leg looks like it has ripped off or broken off the aircraft properly in a crash of some sort so does have some damage but is still very solid and still has a lot of original green and brown paintwork on it still retains a lot of original colour. The leg has been very nicely cleaned perfect to display or any collection and is 23 inches long in size and 25kg in weight. This wheel leg was used by RAF Gloster Meteor of 616 Squadron recovered from a pit of buried parts left by the RAF at the Airfield at Melsbroek in Belgium where they were stationed in early 1945.The wheel leg comes with a A5 laminated information sheet.

In January 1945 and in February a detachment of Gloster Meteor ‘s was deployed to Melsboek near Brussels in Belgium. It was intended as a defence against Messerschmitt 262’s but in the event they did not ever face them. In early April the complete squadron moved to the Netherlands.
