    This is a French mortar bomb fuses wooden carry crate which was captured by the Germans in 1940 and re used by the Wehrmacht. This wooden crate stored and kept dry the fuses the box does have original gray paintwork all over the metal locks and hinges have surface rust also on both ends the metal handles are there again a bit rusty the wood is still very solid both hinges and one of the locks still work perfectly the other does not the lid still opens and closes perfectly and has pencil marked numbers on the back clear to see on the inside again no real damage a nice used box. The crate overall is in very good condition with no real damage and is overall a lovely example of this ammo crate which there are not many about especially captured ones. The box was recovered from village of Plota near Prokhorovka on the battlefield at Kursk 1943 where the largest Tank battle of the war and the last great German offensive of the war in the East in Russia.
