This is a German 21cm brass shell case for the Morser 16 heavy howitzer the case is in lovely condition a near perfect example very solid condition with no major damage and it still completely retains most of its shinny brass colour with some discolour also with no real damage and has all its original markings on the bottom clear to see including the date September 1915.These cases are hard to find as they were not made in a very large number compared to the smaller German guns and a lot were scraped after the war. This case was found on the Somme ware it would have been used in the battles on the famous battlefield of 1916-1918. This is a very nice condition relic from the famous Somme battlefield on the Western front.
