This is a Trench art lovely embossed flower and fruit pebble dash design which is German 21cm brass shell case for the Morser 16 heavy howitzer the case. The case is in nice condition very solid condition with no major damage it still retains most of its shinny brass colour but with some discolour also with no real damage and has all its original markings on the bottom fairly clear to see including the date April 1915.These cases are hard to find as they were not made in a very large number compared to the smaller German guns and a lot were scraped after the war. This case was found on the Somme ware it would have been used in the battles on the famous battlefield of 1916-1918. This is a very nice condition relic from the famous Somme battlefield on the Western front.
